Find Yourself a Better Dentist

One of my most regrettable choices – believing Dr. Gibson when she told me I was an ideal candidate for Invisalign and then allowing her to treat me. I do not recommend this Dr. at all.

Dr. Gibson sold me an Invisalign treatment package and while receiving “treatment” from this Doctor, I repeatedly told her many, many times that I was in severe pain and that I never had pain before starting up with Invisalign. The Dr. told me over and over again that my pain was in no way caused by Invisalign… even though my symptoms started just after treatment. I trusted her and believed her at first… but OVER A YEAR LATER and many moments of excruciating pain… she finally realized that “OH! You have TMJ/TMD.” This diagnosis, in fact, was so easy for her to recognize, that all she had to do was have me open my mouth wide to see that my jaw clicked in and out of place.

According to Align Technologies: “Align Technology, the manufacturer that created Invisalign recommends that orthodontists do not treat any patient who has symptoms of TMJ with Invisalign. These symptoms can include headaches, ear pain, popping in the jaws, chronic fatigue, difficulty focusing and sometimes, depression.”

Anyways — she got her money and what did I get??? Pain, probably for the rest of my life, a bite that is still not correct as my teeth now “scritch” all time when I eat, a midline that is not centered (so my bottom teeth don’t match up to my top), and a lifetime of regret that I ever trusted her with my care. A true zero star experience. Save yourself the trouble.
